Our mission at Aveda is to care for the world we
live in, from the products we make to the ways
in which we give back to society. At Aveda, we
strive to set an example for environmental
leadership and responsibility, not just in the
world of beauty, but around the world.

NOTRE FONDATEUR
Horst Rechelbacher a été un pionnier de la beauté holistique et un champion de la responsabilité environnementale.
Né en Autriche en 1941, Horst a commencé à travailler dans un salon local à l’âge de 14 ans et, à 17 ans, il coiffait des célébrités internationales dans un salon à Rome. À 20 ans, il remporte le championnat européen de coiffure.
Il s’installe ensuite à Minneapolis, dans le Minnesota, et ouvre son premier salon, Horst & Friends, ainsi que plusieurs autres, devenant ainsi un entrepreneur à succès avant 30 ans. Quelques années plus tard, Horst a fait un burn out et s'est rétabli grâce aux plantes médicinales, ainsi qu'au yoga et à la méditation.
Aveda naît en 1978, avec l’objectif d’apporter aux professionnels de la beauté des produits botaniques qui leur seraient autant utiles à eux qu’à leurs clients et à la Terre.
Ses idées allaient révolutionner le monde de la beauté. « Nous sommes la terre », disait-il.
« Nous sommes le sol. Nous sommes l’eau. Nous sommes tout. »
